Un palo al agua

“No dar un palo al agua” (Lit. Not give a stick to the water).

We use this expression when we want to say that someone is lazy and never works.

“My roommate watches TV 10 to 12 hours a day. He doesn’t study, he doesn’t work nor does he intend to study or work. No da un palo al agua.”

“My dog no da un palo al agua. He takes at least 4 naps a day. Then he eats his food and takes 3 more naps.”
